Last week Jack Straw MP(to your left) provoked controversy with comments made on Newsnight about Pakistani men. He said "there is a specific problem which involves Pakistani heritage men ... who target vulnerable young white girls."His comments came after two men of Pakistani origin were convicted of rape in Derby.
Just to remind you guys this is also the same guy who in October 2006 Straw attracted controversy by suggesting to a local newspaper, The Lancashire Evening Telegraph (now The Lancashire Telegraph), that muslim women who wear veils that cover their faces (the niqab) can inhibit inter-community relations, though he denied the issue was raised for political gain, stating that he had raised it in private circles in the past and it had never progressed beyond discussions.
Immediately after this there is a media storm over Pakistan men and grooming white women. Connatations pervading to the fact it is Islam that encourages this. By this simple equation I shall show how this works in the mind of the 'silent majority'.
p + a + k + i = grooming
where;
p= perverted
a= armed
k=killing
i= idiot
Now, in all seriousness, dispropitionally, the majority of sex crimes are done by white people. 80% of sexual crime is done by white men. The latest year for which we have data, Lancashire police arrested 627 people for sexual offences. 0.3% of these were Pakistanis. That’s two people. 85.5% were white British. In Lancashire, there are 1,296,900 white Brits and 45,000 Pakistanis. This means that 4.163 per 10,000 white Brits were arrested for a sex crime, compared to 0.44 Pakistanis
So what does all this mean? Do asian men more specifically pakistani men according the giant phallic being that is Atma Singh view white women as 'easy prey'. If that's the case, then I think all men do. The sexualisation of society all round the world has objectified women. There doesn't seem to be respect for women, as a man I have noticed that other men regardless of race or creed view the 'liberated' woman as something that would give her a good time, or look good with him like a Primark accessory. It's sad but in my opinion true.
With the above in light, it seems irresponsible to label an already marginalised and deeply maligned minority community. It sends the wrong message to the british public. We get accused of not integrating into british society. With comments like Jack Straw, it doesn't exactly help us feel any more secure about integrating.
